Cassidy's of Camden Street |

A very good GAA pub part owned by ex-Dub Fran Ryder. Frequented by many former 'greats' and - a major point in its favour - by Con Houlihan |

Goatstown. Owned by the famous Charlie Chawke. Not known generally known for GAA but it gets a lot of the crowd from the Kilmacud ‘Sevens’ It’s a great place on All Ireland weekend to get a ticket. The Bar staff will announce over the PA each time someone offers a spare ticket. Check out other good Chawke family establishments in our Tipperary and Limerick ‘Crawls’ |

The Grove |

Grove Road (on the Canal between Rathmines Bridge and Harolds Cross bridge). Used to be owned by the O’Carroll family. A great spot to go to if Kilkenny win. The team visit it on the way home each time they are victorious. Now, owned by a Kilkenny man and has had one of those life size Cardboard DJs in the window for more years than I care to remember. |

Noel Leonard’s |

On the South Quays, (just beside Guinnesses Brewery). Great pub to watch a match on the big screen. No truth in the rumour the ‘black stuff’ is pumped in directly from next door. |

Ballybough. Great crowd and great atmosphere for big games |

Try Brogans in Dame Street |
8-May-2001 01:06 |
| |
Remember Jim Brogan and his brother Bernard. Baby Brother Ben is behind the bar. Young John from the parish of Borris in South Tipp will serve you with pleasure and always has a smile (just ask him what he did the last time he got a hurley in his hand). Always a good debate at the end of the bar, and always be prepared to put your money where your mouth is. Brogan’s is the only place in Temple Bar where a sing song might kick off and people drink pints and not Pink Breezers. (No open salmon sandwiches with pesto garnish and gucci dressing here either). If you are the hurler on the ditch, this is the place for you, especially if you are a Rebel in town. A word of warning - Kilkenny and Meath people wouldn't really like this place |

Gaffney's in Fairview |
8-May-2001 01:06 |
| |
Not a GAA pub, per se, although they sponsor the local O'Connell Boys GAA club - but no better place to meet after a big game in Croke Park. Probably the best pint in Dublin too! Dub supporters tend to vote with their feet, so the sight of the crowds outside Gaffney’s on a match day is a testament to its popularity. |

Chaplins
1-2 Hawkins Street |

A sporting pub with particular emphasis on Gaelic games. Tommy Ryan, one of the owners, is from Tipp and played hurling with his native county and Dublin.
|
 |
|
Mick O'Mahony's
Phibsboro |
8-May-2001 01:10 |
| |
One of the most popular, GAA pubs around Croke Park. Only ten minutes walk from the pitch. Like many Dublin pub owners, Mick is a Tipp man and favours 'The Clash of the Ash'. Evidence of this is the 'The Hurlers Prayer' on the wall inside the pub |

The Leeson Lounge
Lower Leeson Street |

Owned by Paddy Morrissey. Full of pictures, mainly of Kilkenny hurling, but in a spirit of true sporting ecumenism, he also has a picture of the Waterford All Ireland winner of 1959, who defeated 'The Cats'. |

The carvery is excellent and if you’re there on time there will be no hassle getting served and seated before the game. It also has a great post-match buzz especially if Galway have been playing.

On O'Connell St. Deserves a mention because they show the game live almost straight afterwards in good comfort.

Rody Bolands in Rathmines |

| |
Definitely deserves a mention as being a great GAA pub. Walls covered in GAA photos, the songs are played every night and you can't get into the place after 8pm the night before a big game in Croke Park. They even have a huge picture of the Meath team that won the All Ireland in '67!!

Devitts - The Cusack Stand, Camden Street |
4-Feb-2004 22:05 |
| |
One of the finest hurling pubs in the city. Owned by Willie Devitt from Limerick who is a great Faughs GAA club man in Dublin and also played hurling for Dublin in his youth. His son, Liam, is also a fine hurler with Faughs and is a former Dublin minor and U21 goalkeeper. Boasts great GAA and - in particular - hurling memorabilia and a fine pint too.

 |
|
Flannery's, Camden Street |
4-Feb-2004 22:07 |
| |
For the younger GAA fans at heart, this venue would also have to be included. Now recognised as an essential pitstop on the slippery slope to 'Coppers' around the corner, Flannery's will be wedged on any half decent GAA weekend in the capital. It's co-owner, Brian Flannery, is from a famous St Rynagh's hurling family in Banagher, Co Offaly but it's far from being a Biffo's only establishment. |
 |
|
Roselawn Inn, Castleknock |
10-Apr-2004 20:14 |
| |
Depending on who you're talking to, this pub is situated in either Castleknock, Clonsilla or Blanchardstown. But there's no argument about the pub's Cavan GAA antecedents, with a framed blue-and-white jersey holding pride of place |
